Cadimage Profiler tool

Anybody else using that tool?

Can I do a compound angle with the profiler without distortion at the corner? I'm trying to run a roof fascia/soffit/frieze around a 90 degree right angle, with one of the legs of the angle rotating up in the z direction 45 degrees to follow the slope of the roof. Like a shed roof.

You can see from the pics that it really distorts at the corner.

Attached is a pic of what I'm getting. Otherwise, would I have to do two pieces? The corner intersection is going to be tough to do otherwise.

Tom,
I do not own the Cadimage Profiler tool but
I believe your problem is not with the Cadimage Profiler tool but
may be with the geometry of the corner your are trying to make.
If the Cadimage Profiler tool uses the TUBE command then the
problem is with how the TUBE command works.
The TUBE command in GDL makes a constant cross section
extruded or swept along a "space curve" so trying to make the corner
you describe creates a geometric contradiction because the rake
cross section must be different from the eave cross section if
the miter is a plumb miter. If the cross section is held constant
then the miter can't be plumb and you have to make a transition shoulder.
This is very similar to the classical "raking moldings" geometry.
See "Architectural Graphic Standards", "Classical Orders and Details".

thanks for the thread tip. I see it is a problem recognized by others. I think I wil make two separate profiles, then join them at the corner by a separate piece that I'm going to make with the AC profiler. I hope that will work.
This seems to be a big problem with Archicad and roof trim. I've been trying to figure out an easy way to do roof cornice work since using ArchiCad (2 years) and have not yet found a time-efficient way to do it, other than lots of little pieces.
