IFC export question

Hi all,

We have had considerable success working with IFCs. We work in Archicad 12 and one problem we have run into is when export IFC to share with our Revit consultants the grid isnt exported.

We use the built in dynamic Archicad tool which does not have an IFC2x3 panel in its attributes, however reading through the IFC 2x3 guids there is a mention of an IFCGRID parameter... however I have not seen this anyplace within the program itself... How do I find it? turn it on? what do I need to do to get the dynamic grid to be exported as part of the IFC?

I have tried turning the grid into polylines that do not export despite having the 2d element choice checked upon export... what am I missing?

Can anyone help ?

Don't know if this helps you but take a look 'IFC 2x3 Reference Guide for ArchiCAD 12' page 10.
With 'Custom Property Set Options' you might be able to export parameters you need.
I have not tested this with grid solution, just guessing.
With my other 'extra' IFC export needs custom prop. set has been solution.
