Elliptical Dome | Grid Roof Structure

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a step by step guide as to how to create an elliptical dome with a grid structure; like that of Mansueto Library.

Its for a uni project, which is similar in design. I've drawn it in sketchup but now want to move onto archicad (sketchup image attached)
