WIndowopenings in wall that curves in 2 directions

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to Archicad and got an assignment where I have to make windowopenings in a wall that curves in 2 directions.
Making a windowopening in a curved wall isn't a problem, but where the curve of a wall ends, the windowopening also stops.
A workaround is putting the same window on the 2 different walls, but it's really difficult to get this seamless.
Is there a way to make it work for both of the curves with only 1 windowopening?

Attached some images of the specific situation:

Thanks!

A curved wall that changes direction must be created from more than one wall segment.
An opening can only belong to one wall, so you will need to add multiple openings.

There are 2 work-arounds I can think of, both with their own problems.

One is to use the polygon wall option.
You will have to pick multiple points to get the curved shape, but it can all be one wall.
You can still add openings to a polygon wall.
The thing is it will not have skins like to composite wall if that is important.

The other is to use another element to form the shape of your opening i.e. a shell to get the arch shape or it could be an object.
Then use a Solid Element Operation to subtract the shape from the wall.
The problem with this is it will show in 3D, but not in plan.
And it can only bean opening - not a window frame (without a lot of extra work).

Actually there is a third option if you are using Archicad 23.
The new opening tool can act on multiple walls.
It can only be square/rectangular or circular/oval.
It can be positioned so only the top half is in the wall for an arch shape.
You can also use multiple openings to achieve a more complex shape i.e. an arch top with straight sides.

Hi Barry,

I made it work with the solid operations!

Thanks for the reply!
