my internal 3D engine is not working.

i'm a MAC user and using ArchiCAD 11 (Aus educational version).

I'm doing rendering right now, my OpenGL 3D engine is working, and textures are shown up in the window, however when I turn into Internal Engine, it doen't show any texture.
Nevertheless when I use photorender, even it will show all textures. How come it happens!!!

How can I fix it??? Please help me ASAP!!!!!!

many thanks,,,!!!!

There is no fix! The internal engine doesn't show textures - full stop.

Instead, it can show material surface fills, and also shadows which you don't get in the OpenGL window. It is also to scale, so you can copy the lines to be used elsewhere. The OpenGL is only an 'image' and has no scale.

And the internal engine's output is vectorial, vs OpenGL's bitmapped. Makes for smaller PDFs

Look for Vectorial 3D Hatching in 3D window settings.

(Funny how they're called "Fills" everywhere else)

Thanks Stuart for the tip on "vectorial 3D hatching" "fills".
Helps fill in another piece of this 100k piece puzzle I'm trying to learn.

Peter, (if you don't mind) what do you mean by; "copy the lines to be used elsewhere".
Or maybe I should say; how do you do that?
I went to internal engine and tried to copy lines of the siding I'm using and could not get just lines to copy, only whole wall.
Thanks

If you go to your Infernal Engine 3D window, draw a marquee around what you want to copy (might be the step that was missing from Peter's explanation) then copy (CTRL-C / CMD-C) and you will get the following dialogue to select options from. Then paste the resulting lines / fills into a 2D workspace (detail window for example; people used to place on plan in the olden days).

Ok, I think I get it now.
Especially about the "olden days".
apparently AC was more primitive in it's
handling of fills I can only assume.
Thanks Stuart.

ps
I like the image of you and family.
Reminds me of when my kids were small
and we use to play "hop on pop".
They use try (and sometimes succeed) at wrestling me off the couch..
it's was a blast.
Then they got to big for me and I always lost,,,it was not fun
anymore......
