Well i know i have asked this before but what is the best technique to produce high resolution floors plans to be used in a marketing book? i really would like to have a pen and ink or hand draw sketch feel to them and not photo real renderings. Any ideas?

Click the Archisketchy link in the post above. It's pretty much right "out of the box" (with a bit of messing with settings)
You should be able to download a demo to play with.
I'm not sure about saving in High DPI.... somewhere in "save as" options?

Probably an AC12 version will be coming out soon along with all the other Cigraph Add-Ons. You can ask them by email.
However, I read some guys mentioning that these AC12 Add-Ons will have their own hardware dongles, if that is a concern for you.

I seem to recall that there was a way of making a squiggle version of your plans without archisketchy. Something to do with converting lines to squiggled ones.

Can anyone recall or post a how-to?

No problem just done a sesarch and found the answer!

Explode your plan into lines.
Replace with sketch lines found in default line types.

I mean that is really all the Add-on does. plus that way you can control how much wiggle the line has

In the 'old' days, we had to do this explode thing in a temporary file.

A 'new' way of doing this since 11 is to use the Worksheet tool to take a snapshot of your entire plan and explode the elements in the Worksheet, thus leaving your model untouched. When you select all lines, only 'real' lines will be available for change to a sketchy line type. When this old tip first surfaced, we did not have cover fills, so if your slabs use those kinds of fills, the linework in them will not be selectable. Either turn them off via Model View Options, or change the fill in the exploded copy.

There will not be any line overshoots, only squiggly lines with this method.

An outrageously complex way of getting a sketchy plan without add-ons is given in this old tip. But, hey, its free if you have more time than money:

(I suspect there are easier ways than in the link above now...have not really thought about it since then...)

Cheers,
Karl
