want to render just marquee area.

I have set up my camera view and its perfect, but I don't need the whole screen, and am sick of waiting for it to render stuff I don't need. I just need the building. So I tried marquee it and it just does the whole screen anyway. Am I doing something wrong?

in the floor plan window with the marquee in place right-click and check choose the option SHOW SELECTION/MARQUEE IN 3D.
The shortcut keys changed.

The logic also as changed, from the old times.
Returning to the 3D window with nothing selected, will only show the previous limited content, unless you choose the "SHOW ALL IN 3D" command.

When you selected the area with the Marquee area and went to the 3D Window you can save it as a View in the View Map of the Navigator so you will have it for future reference. The Marquee cut will be stored as part of the View.
