Rename Interior Elevations

4dProof

anyone else tired of having to "restore interior elevations" before you can rename/edit I/E marker settings?
I have a lot of projects that need 1 or 2 elevations in a room/zone, and I cant effectively edit them until I restore, then edit, then delete the viewpoints I don't need...
if this is a design feature, need needs to be redesigned. if this is a bug, it needs to be fixed.

Personally I don't use interior elevations at all.

However you do not have to place a complete group of elevations and hide the ones you don't want.

Use the staggered if you have adjacent (chained) elevations or the single if on opposite sides of the room.

Singles won't be part of a group though.

Having said that, I have no trouble changing the ID of the group even with hidden elevations - by selecting the group extent and not the individual elevations.

Also the name of the individual elevation can be change by selecting it and changing to 'custom' name.

Unless things have changed in 27?

Versions 6.5 to 27
Dell XPS- i7-6700 @ 3.4Ghz, 16GB ram, GeForce GTX 960 (2GB), Windows 10
Lenovo Thinkpad - i7-1270P 2.20 GHz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia T550, Windows 11

If I have a gruop of elevations, remove one or more from the group, then change the elevation name in the marker settings (IE; add autotext for orientation), click OK, it does nothing. Back in the settings, it reverts to what it was named before. I can only rename after restoring the marker.

I see this on all 4 of my computers (2 MBP's and 2 iMacs, all different gens, all different OS). I also know all (or at least most) of my clients deal with this as well. Maybe the i/e markers don't do this for PC users? what platform are you running?

I am using Windows.

Even adding orientation autotext works.

It is not a teamwork thing is it?

Is there another MAC user that could please test?

those are with the individual elevations. If the elevations are grouped into a single marker, you can not edit name or ID until you restore the missing/removed elevations. For example, a marker like this, can not be renamed:

Works fine for me whether individual or common marker.

I just checked in 26 & 27.

Doesn't matter if I make the changes in the info box or the settings dialogue.

I wonder what else the difference could be other than MAC/Windows.

I wonder if it's a mac thing. I can replicate on 3 version of AC on 3 different operating systems

That is all I can think it is.

I don't have access to a MAC with Archicad installed, so someone else will have to test please.
