For detailed extrusions with closed profile polygons there should be an solid structure method in addition to the two membrane ones. The resulting geometry of something like a solid structure option can currently be achieved by setting an interior thickness that is sufficient to fill the polygon but besides being both inefficient and incorrect definition-wise there are also issues with AC generating the geometry. So being able to simply select a solid structure mode would be good.
It goes without saying that there is a real need for user-defined polygonal solid extrusions - especially due to all the limitations suffered by the skeuomorphic tools. The shell tool is really useful for efficient modelling and has the benefit of correct representation in plan views so enhancing it comes with a multiplied positiv effect and would hopefully also open up for further enhancement towards a more generic extrusion tool - replacing the archaic profiler.
