measure curved route

How does one measure a curved route? We need to create a route for disabled access at 1:14 max grade, falling 500mm. We can't fit straight or semi-circular paths in the space we've got, but can accommodate a slightly meandering zig-zaggish (a new word!) route. Measuring it is tricky because the measure tool only measures straight segments. We can use the dimension tool to measure straight and circular portions but must first convert the route into straight and circular portions.

Any suggestions?

space click with the polyline tool on the curves (or trace and then bend locally to suit centreline) then get info on the polyline...works a treat and great for fire hose reel distances....

When you create a stair and choose the shape of the stair, you have the option to create instead a ramp!
Many, not all, of the stair shapes are available to you, and you can have railings.
