Complex slab

I am confronted with modelling a concrete slab where the top surface is of a given slope and the bottom (soffit) is a different slope, thus creating a slab of variable thickness
Obviously, the slab tool does not work; the mesh tool would be useful for the top slab only.
My present solution is using two roof slabs, one for the top surface and one (different slope ) for the bottom, and joining them using "solid elements", a rather cumbersome solution.

Has anybody done this before in a different and easier manner?

Depends on the shape of the slab (in plan), You could consider using a complex profile and a wall. Otherwise I think you're on the money.

Like this - a wall with defined complex profile
