Composite Fill Direction

I have made a roof composite using the plywood fill for the top skin. When I cut a section however, the plywood fill does not remain parallel to the slope of the roof. This creates a problem when trying to detail. The orientation radio buttons have no affect either.

We are trying to use live sections for detailing our wall sections and would key those for further detailing. At this point, I am not sure how to resolve the fill direction without exploding the section and doing it manually.

Any tips on how to make it work?

Vectorial hatching is set for cut fills?

Hi Ferenc,

Yes, plywood fill has all 3 types checked. I can not see any other means of defining the cut fill to follow roof pitch. It seems to remain parallel to ground plane.

Any other ideas?

Yep. I have it turned on. But vector fills don't respond to orientation angle in section.

Check your MVOs again. They do.

Djordje-

No, it doesn't work. Perhaps you can try it yourself and show me that it works. I can't seem to get it to work. Composite Fills only look correct when my composite roof is flat. As soon as I set a pitch to the roof, the plywood fill lines remain horizontal and the roof section looks incorrect. It looks like a diagonal hatch rather than parallel lines as plywood should look.

The only way I can get it to work is to change the section to a drawing type and then rotate the fill handles to be perpendicular to the slope. But rebuilding reverts to the incorrect fill.

MVO: Override cut fills is unchecked.

Fills: Plywood fill is available as Cut Fill, Drafting and Cover Fill

Composite: Using 1/2" Plywood Fill scale with plan.

Onscreen View Options: Set to vectorial. Lines look fine when roof is not pitched.

AFAIR this has never worked in section.

Cheers,

Oh, you mean the fill PATTERN direction? Yep, you are right - it does not work. It is always as defined.
