Finally one of my dreams for Archicad I found it in the latest ADOBE PS CS4 http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshopextended/features/?view=topnew
I must say it's a fantastic evolution to the workspace!

I know i'm not the only one who find this as a real problem but c'mon it's something very basic.
When you draw somting on a paper, you rotate for sure the paper.
so WHY WE DON"T HAVE THIS OPTION???

PLEASEEE YOU CAN DO IT!!
You are almost there with the trace paper!!
Thank you!!

Discussed many times before! No interest! Strangely, people who have worked only on AC, and don't use Autocad, just cannot appreciate the idea! Perhaps Photoshop will open theyr eyes!

Autocad has been having it forever! I saw it in R12, which is about 15 years ago! A simple command, called "plan"!

You are right that is a very basic and important feature.!
You need this to take a new look at your project. It is very important in the real world, and it should exist in the virtual too.

Was there in 2.62 also ... 1988?

Yes, would be good!

In fact ... this, and the selection (left to right window, right to left crossing) are the only two things I miss.

Edit:

1987. The history can be found here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoCAD#Version_history

And in 1989. I bought a math co processor for the 4.77 MHz XT ... wow!!! Geezer!

Sorry.
For me, rotating canvas is not as important
as getting a top, fully functional winder stair too.

For the record, 1985
Got my first pc
xt, don't know the mhz.(1.5?)
1meg of ram, if I remember right.
5meg hard drive (bought separate)
1-360k true floppy~~~~~\\//
$999.00 in silicon valley.
What a deal!
Which I did my first graphics with,
in R-base, (relational data base)
using only the key symbols on the
keyboard to represent roof and wall details
(stored in one of the database fields)
of a large complex I was managing.
Did not get R9 until 1989.
My how time flies when your having fun,
and kids:-))

I don't think that you do ... RAM was more expensive than gold. I think 640K was the norm.

The two can be in a sense linked ... but you know how they say - the life starts again when the dog dies and the kids leave 😉 We have cats and a teenage daughter, so ... 😉
