Newbie Question: Elevations

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have drawn up a building with a composite skin, with an outer brick leaf.

In 3D mode the bricks look fine. But in 2D elevations, there is no indication that it is a brick structure. If I change the brick in the profile, it just changes the colour, still no brick pattern.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Make sure there is a fill attached to the material you are using (there are several brick fills available). I assume you are in open gl for your 3d viewing. There must be a texture already attached to the material since you see the bricks there. Once a fill is applied, you might have to play with the fill size to get it just right.

I looked at all the fill settings to no avail. Also looked at the global settings..no joy.

But then looked on the Elevation Settings and checked the "Vectorial 3D Hatching" box, this has allowed all the fills on both the roof tiles and the brick skin.

Of course. I should have thought of that first. Glad you figured it out.
