problem using Cinema 4D 10/11 add-on for ArchiCAD 12

When I send my volumes from Archicad to cinema, everything is ok. When I come back to Archicad I see in my volume all the triangulate sides like in the picture. It is the same in cinema 10 and 11. It didn't happen in archicad 11 and old add on.

Everything in cinema is set correctly (smooth etc.). I repeat: the same operation works properly in archicad 11 and old addon hidding the sides properly.

I have the same problem and they told me they were going to fix this problem.
The other problem I have is that I can not change the materials of the seperate components of the object when sent back to Archicad.
Also the objects arrive on the wrong floorlevel when sent back.

I do not have a solution for you.

I'm trying C4D 11 with AC12 and the Exchange plugin (on OSX). I have problems with the bi-directional exchange: when going back to C4D with a spline object, its points are lost.

So I believe there are still some (serious) problems with the bi-directional workflow!

After further testing, I can confirm that I don't succeed in roundtripping a spline from Cinema4D into a GDL object and back into Cinema4D. The spline is there, but its points are lost in translation.

I'm continuing to use Archicad 11 and Old Add on. It's impossible to work with the new one. I don't understand this gap. I think we are only in two in all the world to use this addon.

I think you can't translate a spline. Only facettes, mesh, solid. However, there are many problem with the last version. I'm continuing to use archicad 11 and the old version of add on. You can do really great things. It's a pity that it does't work. I think we are only two people to use this addon.

Hi Mario
That's a shame, as the spline was used to generate a swept profile. You can still edit the spline in C4D, provided you have the points. A trick is to store the spline points in a separate ASCII-file and reload it again. But with many splines, this will be painful. And you have to take care of restoring pline interpolation settings and position.

Maybe just copying the objects into another C4D file will be better... But then I don't see the point of the bi-directional connectivity anymore.

I assume the plugin is not fully functional anymore.

What you mean is that you need the point of a spline in c4d translated in GDL to do a sweep volume?

No. I do the sweep in C4D. I don't even expect more intelligence in the connection.

I save the points from the spline into an ASCII file (using the Structure tab). I can reload these points afterwards.
