Major bug AC11

I am posting this on the forum for attention, and warning to others. I remember in beta finding a bug that if you heavy marqueed a whole "whatever" (a housing unit in my case, don't know the limits) and mirror it, AC crashed. That was fixed, and is still doable. However, today I am discovering further extent of this serious bug. I am supposed to be generating a 4 unit complex from one of my stock plans. While I can mirror all layers and all stories without crashing, I can not drag a unit (all layers, all stories) without crashing. Individual stories are ok. I can not rotate a unit without crashing. I have been working on this all morning and have probably crashed a dozen times.

Once I drag or rotate and clear the marguee, all nodes light up and then forget it. Just for fun, I will lock it up and do a screen shot.

This need immediate attention. I can not work like this.

So, warning to someone to not promise getting something done by the end of the day if you need to duplicate and drag units.

I should have mentioned, you can't undo a mass drag either. You can't drag a copy, but you can mirror one. You can drag the unit, but not undo that drag... so you try, force quite, then do it again, and modify the placement. Basically you get one shot. So, hard to place on a tight site.

if i may suggest a work-around. In a new .pln file, use Modules of your individual units to arrange the 'complex'. Once arranged, you can explode the modules into current view. All thanks to multi-story hotlinks.

Who says AC11 features aren't worth the upgrade.

I wondered if it would be worth it, but I was onto the path I was on.. and actually finished the placement part (I just hope I don't need to do any unit shifting.. shape shifting would be easier:). I haven't played with modules that much, and don't know their limitations etc, and this normally works just find. I do end up manipulating them individually, and just copying them is so simple.

thanks

this is not specific to your AC11 bug but may be relevant so you don't blow your brains out.

whatever you do, DO NOT install OS X Leopard yet. i have done that and am daily finding lots of issues; a few that i believe are effecting AC11 but most are problematic to other things that i use all of the time > e.g. adobe, HP plotter, etc, etc.

Too late, but thank. I actually have not had any issues with programs. I am having an issue with Airport Extreme and my desk top G5, but not my laptop. So I plugged in a long ethernet wire. I just downloaded the new update for AC, and the readme indicatives this crashing might have been address. If so, I would be very impressed. They contacted me, and I sent files to them. As soon as I finish what I am doing I will install it ad check.. in the morning.
