I want to delete a dimension... where's the sweet spot?

Hi All
I having been wondering this for a while now..
If I have a run of dimensions and wish to delete one in the middle, where is the sweet spot that needs to be clicked in order to select it.
I find that I either select the whole run of dims or I select just the text??
However, if I zoom out a fair bit then I tend to be able to select & isolate a chosen dimension to delete it and break the run.

Is there a sweet spot, or a button I should be pressing?

Thx
tony

Yes this will remove that node but the dimension line will heal itself.

To break the dimension line you must select the exact centre on the dimension line of the dimension you want to delete.
This will remove that dimension and break what is left into two separate dimentions.

As always, you should know your cursors ...

Deleting the whole dimension chain: select with the Mercedes

Deleting one dimension LINE - a part between the two witness lines: find the hotspot in the middle of that line, with the checkmark cursor. Select and delete

Removing an unwanted witness line: select with the chekmark cursor and delete

Moving/editing the dim text: find the handle at the lower left with the checkmark cursor, select, edit

Joining two dimension chains: with the Dim tool active, select one with Mercedes, CTRL click the other one

Rotating dim chains to position: select with Mercedes, rotate

...

What did I forget?

To dynamically change the witness line, select the witness line at the intersection with the dimension line, then in the dimension tool click to set the end of the witness line. To change the witness lines of a section of the dimension string, repeat the process by first selecting the middle node. To change the witness lines of the entire dimension string, repeat the process by selecting the the edge of the dimension line using the mercedes cursor.
