PLN icon not correct in Windows Explorer

Maybe I was just not paying attention to symbols in front of file names, but
don't remember seeing the symbols I have arrows pointing to in my attached image.
The first time was today, when I started a new stripped down, cleaned out version of an 11 to 12 migration .pln as new template for my first project in 12 that is not a migration from 11.
12 library is loaded ok
This make any sense to anybody?
Update:
Now I know it says Plug-In.
And in front of ALL my .pln files.
But I don't have any plug ins!
I'm confused.
Thanks

Some standard Archicad modules are loaded as plug-ins or add-ons. Like for instance the IFC 2.2 add-on, it's loaded in AC11 as standard, but not in 12, where the standard is IFC 2.3 (figures might be wrong, this is out of the top of my head).

If there is a plugin missing, you should get an error message when you load the project. Read what it says.

Check your EXTENSION links in FOLDER OPTIONS... Looks like .pln is associating with different program.

This is one of the many wonderfully annoying things about Windows. I believe that some other application has associated itself with the extension ".pln". The 'plug in' would refer to that application, not ArchiCAD.

In Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options ... and then click the File Types tab in the resulting dialog, which should look something like the attached screenshot.

If a pln is not set to open with ArchiCAD, you can change that with the Change... button, but if you see an Advanced button (I don't have AC installed in my Parallels virtual machine to check) click it, and you'll see if multiple applications are trying to associate themselves with PLN. You can also change the icon there.

Cheers,
Karl

Thanks one and all for comments

Installed Adobe's Creative Suite, a few hours before I noticed new "plug-in" icon.
Looks like that's what caused the change.
I now believe this doesn't effect how things work, but for education sake, would like to change it back, because other program icons got changed also, and appreciate the helpful comments.
Using your suggestion Karl, I got that far and of coarse "solo" icon was not in adobe folder, as popped up. (see blue arrow).
However, when I went looking (browsing) for AC "normal" solo project icon in:
Program files>GS>AC12 and looked around, could not find "normal" solo project icon.
I may have been staring it right in the face, but did not recognize it.
So, any hints on where it might be playing hide and seek, anyone?

Thanks
Bier

Simply changing the association of .pln back to ArchiCAD should do the trick.

.... which means

1. Hit the CHANGE button in the first dialog box

2. Navigate to ARCHICAD and assign

Thanks Duane and Karl
That did the trick.
In over twenty years of using pc's, I've never had anything happen like that.
Wierd.
Looks like ACS messed with some other icons also, I'll fix those latter.

Adobe InDesign is always the culprit!

4 programs use PLN extension. Take a look:
