problem using Cinema 4D 10/11 add-on for ArchiCAD 12

When I send my volumes from Archicad to cinema, everything is ok. When I come back to Archicad I see in my volume all the triangulate sides like in the picture. It is the same in cinema 10 and 11. It didn't happen in archicad 11 and old add on.

Everything in cinema is set correctly (smooth etc.). I repeat: the same operation works properly in archicad 11 and old addon hidding the sides properly.

I agree with the above comments! Beautiful design, and a stunning render! Lovely stuff!

Slightly off-topic I know, but I'm curious as to what happens to the model next? I presume the drawings are for planning purposes only as they contain no construction information. How do you now turn this design into a constructable building? Is it just a case of churning out lots of sections, and adding all the detail by hand in 2d, or is there a way to continue to utilise the 3d model to get even basic geometrical data for the beams and so on?

Thanks for posting, anyway!

When you came back in Archicad the new shape is an Object, so you can have all the characteristics of an archicad object. It's not a bean or a slam. You can't calculate volume and surface because it's an object.

That's a shame. So what happens next to the model? Do you have to do the constructional detailing, or is that someone elses job! Are they going to fully model it again in another program, like Digital Project, or is there another method to do the construction drawings?

Apologies for so many questions! I'm just interested in the process.

You will add details as a you are using archicad objects. If you need details however you need explode the drawing and add other lines.
Everything depend on how much comples is the object you draw in Cinema.
I don't really understand your problem.

My problem was simply it's a shame ArchiCAD can't yet cope with complex 3d shapes, and still keep the intelligence, i.e. the whole point of BIM!

Thanks for the answers, best of luck!

There's no solution. It's seem nobody is interested in this plug in. You can use AC11 and the old plug in.
