Trapezoid Volume

Hi, in one of my designs I'd like to use a trapezoid volume. Is the only way to create one through a boolean operation? Or is there an object available that I can use? I'm not sure....

I'm using Archicad 11 on a Mac

Thanks and Kindest,

What about of a Mesh?

thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure how this would help me. A regular sloped mesh would give some options, however a trapezoid has slanted sides / walls. Can this be done with a mesh?

As long as the top edges never overhang the bottom ones.

Do you specifically need it to be a solid volume? Could you use four sloping walls instead in this situation?

You could even investigate making a GDL object if it's something you might use often. Each node could be X, Y & Z adjustable using hotspots!

In the US version of archicad there is a standard library part
special Construction>Polygon Prism 11

which gives you the mass you posted.

It is strange that the programmers at Gralphisoft named this object
"Polygon Prism" since I believe this shape is referred to as a
"truncated pyramid" in most mathematical texts.
I wonder what the issue for the programmers was that caused
them to decide on this name.

Don't know about the limitations if any using the math term truncated prism. I wondered if the name was to indicate that the section can have 3 ore more sides. The top plan can be angled.
I've found this a useful little library part for footings to faux rocks.
