What will happen to my favorites??

I have window and door favorites from AC 12.

1. Do I have to redo these for 13?

I'm still a little unfamiliar with the library for 13. I opened a project under 13 and it loaded the 12 library, and 13 isn't showing.

2. Do I have to manually load the 13 library?

Favorites saved for 12 parts only pick up 12 parts. Another issue with current library set up. So, yes, you'll have to redo all your doors and windows IF you choose to use the 13 versions. I don't use AC's so I don't know what changed (other than the GUID number). A pain IMHO.

You'll need to navigate to the Ac13 library in the GS folder and select it to load it.

A real pain every single time there is a new version...

I am also trying to find a way to get the Favorites settings from other library parts into to the new ArchiCAD 13 library parts.

I don't like having to reconfigure all of my Favorites everytime a new ArchiCAD Library or hot-fix comes along.

I am trying several work arounds for this. I hope I can figure it out faster than tweaking all of my objects again.

You don't have to switch to the new library, you can just use what you want from it. If it was not a buggy part, or nothing new added, don't change. You can accumulate "your" library and add to it as time goes on. Just keep the macros files. I still have a few from 6.5, so that Macro 6.5 file is included. I am a bit in a different circumstance than most users as many of my plns very old and have evolved with new releases, but many still retain old parts I keep in the library.

The GUID solved some long standing issues for many users, but created a problem as well. I don't like it at all.

That true. But there may be some other reasons to want old Favorite settings applied to the new library parts.

I think I am getting close to a solution.

I can not do it. Reconfigure with Default, and Reconfigure with Last Selection did not work for this either.

The best I could do is overwrite the new library part with the old one that has the Favorites settings which is a waste of time. I might just as well load the original part.
