Problems with extracting .lcf file

I originaly posted this in the ACE Library topic but now that I tried some new stuff I think its worth asking again.

I'm having issues with extracting a library in the LCF format to get all the parts in folders so I can fiddle with it a bit. I tried using the "extract container" command but in the target directory I only get 4-5 folders out of the supposed 35 or so.

I have the exact same result with saving as PLA and extracting to a folder upon opening the file, only a couple folders get there.

Do I need to close any AC open with that library active before I extratc? I tough that the PLA method wouldnt need to.

Anyone have an idea about this, im a bit desperate.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for sorta doubleposting.

It's a mac/pc thing. You ought to download the PC version. XP/Windoze machines can't deal with some of the 'funny european' characters and decide to go on strike when they see them, which is why extraction aborts.

I have never had any luck trying to extract the ACE library.
And I do have the PC version.
This is all that extracts - just tried again in version 13 as well.

The same happens here and presumably on all PCs. I would love to have a zipped (instead of lcf) version of the ACE library so that I could choose what object I want to load. Of course that would mean having to deal with macro dependencies... 😉

Any chance of a zipped version Andy?

It's not the lcf that causes the problem afaik - it's the umlauts etc. in the actual objects that cause the unpacking to fail - I tried lcf and zipped versions when I created this. I had to manually rewrite every offensive character on a mac when I made the pc version - and my pc version loaded fine - unfortunately - I don't have any time to dedicate to this project right now - but I would suggest working between a mac and a pc to discover this current problem - are you sure it was the pc version? The torrents have been re-seeded hundreds of times by others...

When you extract it, you might want to choose a folder high in the root. So don't choose some folder in 'my documents' but in 'c:\'
Hope this helps.

I'm certain it was the PC version Andy but will redownload tonight just in case. Whether I succeed in extracting the entire lcf or not, I just want to say many many thanks to you guys for having created this library in the first place.

Masterscript, I'll give your suggestion a try first - might save me some precious bandwidth!

Nope. Didn't work.

Masterscript, the result of extraction is exactly as before regardless of whether it's to a root directory or not.

Andy, I tried with a fresh download of the PC version but no dice.

Giving up...

Could someone point me to the download for the international version?

Thanks
