Having problems with snapping lines in 3D view

Anonymous

Hi,

I want to make several elements snap together in 3D view as I can't do it in 2D, but only a few of parts actually snap. It's weird because they were all created in the same way but only the odd one or two will snap onto each other.

Attached is a screenshot of what I want to snap, the red line indicates where the join is.

Thank you for your help

I have but I can never get it lines up perfectly. My other thread, shows why it needs to be aligned perfectly, but I'm having trouble with it all for some reason

I haven't followed that entire thread, but if there aren't nodes after all the trimming where you want to align them, then you may have to do this in section windows.

The window that the section opens in.
I place a lot of what I call working sections throughout a project. They are a favorite so on a non-plotting layer. Place (and delete when done) as many sections as you need move your elements to proper alignment.

Ok, I know where I've gone wrong ( again )... Going to start from scratch.

How can I add an offset to this Fill without it ' going off shape' As you can see when I drag the cursor the profile is at an angle, can I add something to make all offsets from that line straight as illustrated by the simple line to the left of the angles line.

Thank You

Edit: I believe I need to add a tangent to the line so that it is the same width when extended. Not sure how to do that !
