Issue creating Slab with Magic Wand ( Area below walls)

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi guys,

While creating a slab with the magic wand method, the area below the boundary walls is ignored. If the wall has doors or openings of any kind in it, the lack of the slab below shows up as a void. How do I avoid this?
Besides it would be seen as a discontinuity in sections. So this is a legit problem.

Im forced to use the magic wand method in this case cause the boundary is not regular in form.

Thanks in advance.

Try grabbing the edge of the slab after you have placed it and then pick 'offset edge' from your pet pallette then enter the value of your wall thickness into the tracker.

This problem indicates ignorance of basic magic wand technique.

When you magic wand, you instruct Archicad to seek a perimeter for an area. It finds the closest contiguous wall line and you get the too-small slab.

Should you magic wand against the outer line of the walls, you'll get the right sized slab.
