Editing files from Version 12

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have been told to save files in version 12 as an archive version (.pla) and that when they are opened in version 13 they will function normally. However, when I open a V12 file saved as a .pla in V13, the V12 library overrides the V13 library. There is no V13 library anymore. Is this how it is supposed to work? If not, how can I save files so that I can edit them in V13 with a full library?

You should archive files in PLA format. I don't know about AC12 files to be migrated -- I haven't heard that one before. Your problem is that the file you are opening in AC13 is reading it's embedded Libraries.

Look for an AC12>AC13 migration guide in your documentation for help on migrating files. Typically, you just open the file in AC13 and go to work -- you can unload the old Libraries and load the new ones (that's what the Migration Library is for) if you wish, but it's not necessary.
