textures and colours

i would like to extend my textures and colours. but i don't know how. its my first project with archicad and i'm not that good. i found a lot of structures in the inet. but these were jpg. how do i add them and how do i add more colours....?
maybe i'm not capable of because i have the student-version....?!

basically a stupid question - i quess. but like i said i'm a beginner...

Textures are used by Materials. So you have to go to the Material Dialog, duplicate an existing Material and modify it, also assigning to it the texture jpg of your choice. The folder containing the jpg must be loaded as a library.
About color: You have to go to the Pens & Colors Dialog to create new Pen Sets or modify existing ones.
