How do I get rid of wall outlines from the above story!?

Hi. I don't want the outlines of the walls above to be visible on the ground floor as I find it unnecessary and annoying when I go back to rearrange this floor. Is there a way of turning off the dashed line that is the outline of the walls? Additionally, can you turn it off for just the walls? I want to keep the dashed outline of for example floor slabs from overhangs...

Also, whilst I'm here, is there a way of turning off the orange direction arrow things on the windows in 3d view? I don't want that visible on my elevations And could I please get specific info e.g. where I change the settings etc, as I don't know my way around Archicad that well...

Thanks

The quickest fix to your dilemma is set your Walls Floor Plan Display to "Symbolic Cut", and assuming they are not multi-story Walls, set Show on Stories to "Home Story Only". If that doesn't work, you've got to mess with a bunch of Floor Plan Cut Plane settings and Display Settings -- hopefully, you can fix it with the two settings above.

I'm the guessing the "orange direction arrow things" are the "opening lines in 3D" -- In AC13 this can be controlled by a Model View Option -- also, you can turn off the opening lines under 3D Representation in the object settings dialog.

Set Show on Stories to "Home Story Only" worked. great stuff.

However, I couldn't find the Model View Option to get rid of the "opening lines in 3D". I looked in options/model view options. Is that the correct one? If so, what do I do from there? If not, where do i access this model view option?

thanks for the help so far

I looked in "model view options" and the "show opening lines in 3d for doors and windows" box was not ticked yet the orange opening lines persist in 3d view. very confusing. is there another way to switch them off?? in AC12 this wasn't even an issue! I don't really understand the benefit of having them what so ever.

I beta tested AC13, but I don't actively use it, so I'm going from memory -- I think door/windows have a parameter for "Opening Lines in 3D" that can be "On", "Off", or "as in Model View Settings" -- if your openings are set to "On", then it doesn't matter what the MVO is.

I actually think the setting is quite helpful, since we typically show door swings in construction documents, but not for presentation drawings or 3D views -- this allows you to control the opening lines by View instead of by object.

Hi, managed to get the "show opening lines" off I have another question though if you don't mind...

what is the easiest way to make my floor plans have black lines only? i.e. doors, objects etc all appear with black lines? (i don't want to export the plans in black and white because i've added colour fills to the landscaping...) Also, what is the easiest way to give the walls a black fill as opposed to the less visually appealing standard block fill? after these 2 last alterations I think I'll be ready to put together a presentation

thanks

You should use Pen Sets to change your desired Pen colors to black. And use Model View Options to control the appearance of background Fills in your Walls.

Save yourself some ViewSets in order to switch your desired output on the fly and place on Layouts for output.
