Fitting windows into multiple walls.

What is the best way to make a window fit/blend into multiple walls?

In the screen shot you can see (hopefully) that I have a brown wall below a green wall, in which I want the window to fit inside both. The reason I'm using two different walls is simply because when I import the model into another rendering program, I can make those two walls separate materials.

Any easy way to do this? Its probably something simple that I'm missing..

Thanks in advance!

Appreciate the link, definitely helps.

However, when doing the suggested from the forum.. I can't seem to figure out how to make an opening in the top wall that is the same shape as the window.

If I make the same window as on the bottom wall, then make it an opening, the opening becomes orthogonal rather than asymmetrical like the window. So basically I can't seem to match the opening I'm trying to make with the same window.

I don't know which version of Archicad you are using.
Some windows in some versions have the option in
the parameter list to show an empty opening only.
See if the window you are using has such a parameter.
Also check and see if there is a trapesoid opening in the openings folder
If not, you will probably have to use the complex profile wall option.
Any other work around is too complicated.

You can put in a roof or mesh object with the same shape as your window head and use that as a Solid Element Operation's "Operator" to subtract from the upper wall. Place the operator on a layer that is normally turned off (i.e. don't delete it)
