Cannot Save PLN file error

Anonymous
Not applicable
All,
I am trying to see if others have the same problem while savinf the pln file.
The error while working is :(CANNOT SAVE PLN FILE). I have administrator rights for everything and the folder is not read only.
I have to exit without saving and pick up from the last autosave. I cannot even do a save as of the file. This really stinks.

Anyone???

Thank you

Best,
DDJUSA

Do you have a commercial licence or a demo version - demo can't save?
If commercial is your key working or is it maybe running in demo mode.

Are you saving to your local hard drive or a network drive?

What did you do in the file between the last autosave and when you could no longer save?
Are you in TW?

Did you try "Save as..." to a different location?

I have usually seen this problem when there is a change in the file name or the path name while ArchiCAD is running. It doesn't sound like this applies in your case but perhaps there are some details missing.

Well,
I stopped working in Archicad for lunch and when I got back I couldn't save the file anymore. I tried save as but didn't work.
It sounds like there is a bug on autosave or something.

I don't think this will be the problem but when you do a "Save As" make sure the file type is set to PLN.
A couple of times I have saved as a different format and wondered why the PLN wasn't updating.

If you can't "Save As" to your desktop then there is something very wrong.
Can you save from other programs or create a new text file or folder without any trouble to the same place you are trying to save your Archicad file?
If you can there is a problem with Archicad (all I can think is it is in demo mode).
If not then there is a problem with your PC / permissions.

Have you tried shutting down the PC completely and restarting?

Autosave has nothing to do with the manual saving of a file so I don't think the problem is there.
