BIM SERVER BASED LIBRARIES

Anonymous
Not applicable
Simple question.
Need to update a part in a BIM Server based library (cannot be embedded as the part is shared across multiple files).

Currently we make a new one (same name), add to the original source folder and then upload by hitting the refresh button. Is this the only way? if so it is not really practical for those working remotely. Wonder if this is addressed in 14 (there are some references to library parts in the 14 gumf)....

Yes, that is the way to do it.
What you could do is create a folder just for these library parts and make a BIM Server Library out of that folder. Then when there is a new library part you would have to refresh only this BIM Server Library.
So this library would contains only a few to a few dozen library parts and it does not take much time for Users to download the new version from the BIM Server.
